Lady Theodosia Balfour has certainly gotten the short end of the stick—her stepsister, the newly crowned Princess Beatrice, is telling everyone in polite society that Theo, her sister, and their mother are evil, wicked, and horrid people who treated her like a slave. ⭐⭐⭐~I just finished this one, but I found myself skimming through the last portion before ultimately jumping to the ending. The first 60% had me fully engaged—I genuinely enjoyed it! However, after that point, the story started to lose momentum and felt stagnant. That said, I did like how it wrapped up. I can’t help but think that a slightly shorter length might have tightened the pacing and made for a more compelling read.
