'Seven Deadly Sins' #BookTag: A Fun Way to Reflect on Your Reading Habits

'Seven Deadly Sins' Book Tag: A Fun Way to Reflect on Your Reading Habits

Book tags are a fun and creative way to engage with the book community, and one tag that’s been making the rounds is the Seven Deadly Sins Book Tag. Inspired by the traditional seven deadly sins—Pride, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, Greed, Lust, and Gluttony—this tag offers a unique way to reflect on your reading habits and preferences. So let’s dive in and explore the tag, and I encourage you to share your answers too!

1. Pride: A Book You Are Proud to Have Read
This prompt is all about celebrating a book that you’re proud of having read. Maybe it’s a challenging classic, a hefty fantasy novel, or a book that pushed you outside your comfort zone. For me, it’s War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy. The sheer length and depth of the novel made it an accomplishment to finish, and I’m proud of having tackled it!

2. Envy: A Book You Wish You Had
We all have those books on our wish lists that we just can’t seem to get our hands on. Whether it’s because it’s out of stock, too expensive, or simply a coveted edition, this is the chance to share what you’re longing for. I’ve had my eye on the illustrated edition of The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. The artwork is stunning, and I would love to add it to my collection.

3. Wrath: A Book You Disliked
Every reader has a book they felt disappointed by or downright disliked. Maybe it didn’t live up to the hype, or it just wasn’t your cup of tea. For me, it’s Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James. I couldn’t connect with the characters, and the story didn’t live up to the expectations I had going in. It’s definitely a book that sparked some frustration for me!

4. Sloth: A Book You Haven’t Read Due to Laziness
We all have that one book sitting on our shelves, gathering dust. It’s not that we don’t want to read it—it’s just that we keep putting it off for one reason or another. For me, it’s The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. I’ve heard so much about it, but I keep procrastinating. Maybe this tag will motivate me to finally dive in!

5. Greed: A Series You Can’t Get Enough Of
Some books are so addictive that you just can’t stop reading them. You inhale the entire series and still want more. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins fits this description perfectly. I devoured the trilogy, and every time I revisit the world of Panem, I’m just as hooked as I was the first time.

6. Lust: A Book You Find Attractive
Let’s face it—book covers are eye candy! A beautiful cover can make us pick up a book even before we know what it’s about. For me, The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern is a prime example. The cover is just so magical, and it reflects the enchanting nature of the story within.

7. Gluttony: A Book You Devoured
Finally, we have gluttony—the book you simply couldn’t put down, the one you devoured in one sitting. Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard was that book for me. I read it in a single day, completely absorbed in the world of magic, rebellion, and secrets. The pacing was perfect, and I couldn’t stop turning the pages!
