REVIEW: The Rose in the Shadows is a gripping start to the House of Hyrax series. Arcadia Rayne crafts a richly atmospheric world filled with political intrigue, forbidden magic, and complex characters. The protagonist's journey is compelling, and the twists kept me hooked until the end. While a few pacing issues slowed the middle, the strong character dynamics and satisfying payoff more than made up for it. A must-read for fans of dark fantasy with a touch of romance—I'm already looking forward to book two!
