#BookReview: Of Poseidon (The Syrena Legacy #1) by @ByAnnaBanks

ABOUT THIS BOOK:
Galen is the prince of the Syrena, sent to land to find a girl he's heard can communicate with fish. Emma is on vacation at the beach. When she runs into Galen—literally, ouch!—both teens sense a connection. But it will take several encounters, including a deadly one with a shark, for Galen to be convinced of Emma's gifts. Now, if he can only convince Emma that she holds the key to his kingdom...

Told from both Emma and Galen's points of view, here is a fish-out-of-water story that sparkles with intrigue, humor, and waves of romance.

REVIEW:
Imagine a world where mermaids are real... but don't call them that unless you want to offend them. The Syrena (think: sirens) are a sophisticated aquatic people with multiple kingdoms. They are strictly prohibited from living among humans and are cautioned against spending too much time on land, as it supposedly shortens their lifespan.

Emma, a human girl, encounters a profound crisis while on vacation with her best friend. On the same day, she meets Galen, a prince from one of the Syrena kingdoms. Drawn to Emma for reasons he can't yet understand, Galen follows her back to Jersey. There, he begins to uncover the truth about her heritage—and his own feelings.

For those who can't stand cliffhangers, make sure you have the second book on hand, because you won't want to wait to find out what happens next.
