There are no whispered words here. No condemnation for the blood that flows through my veins. The only animosity I face comes from the beautiful and infuriating Headmaster, Alaric Grayson Thorne, a man who despises me just as much as I loathe him and everything he stands for.
But that doesn’t mean secrets don’t threaten to tear the school in two. No one talks about the bloody massacre that forced it to close decades prior, only the opportunity it can afford to those fortunate enough to attend.
Because for the first time in fifty years, the Coven will open its wards to the Thirteen: thirteen promising students destined to change the world.
If the ghosts of Hollow’s Groves’ victims don’t kill them first...

My Review: "The Coven" by Harper L. Woods embarks you on a captivating journey into a realm brimming with magic and mystery. From its opening pages, I found myself ensnared by Woods' fresh perspective on age-old tales of magic and demons.
Set primarily within a college designed for witches to hone their craft in safety, the narrative delves into the intricacies of magic passed down through generations. Here, rituals are sacred, rules are paramount, and straying from the prescribed path carries severe consequences. Amidst this backdrop, characters grapple with personal motivations that often diverge from the collective interests of their peers.
The palpable tension between the principal male and female characters sets a compelling tone from the outset, hinting at the tumultuous journey they are destined to undertake. While the trajectory of their path is discernible, the finer details remain tantalizingly obscured.
Consuming this book felt akin to indulging in a delectable feast, leaving me eager to embark on the next installment without delay.
