My Review: Nora Roberts immerses us in a magical realm where the fae and other mystical beings can traverse between worlds. Breen, who always felt she was barely average and often settled for mediocrity, has her life turned upside down by a sudden windstorm that reveals a hidden heritage. Confronted with her true origins, she decides to explore her roots by visiting the country where her father grew up.
Setting off on a summer journey of self-discovery with her best friend at her side initially, Breen is filled with hope. In this new world, she discovers a fulfilling career, makes lasting friendships, and creates a life she never dreamed possible. However, as is typical in fantasy, a looming darkness threatens her newfound happiness. Amidst these discoveries, Breen begins intense training, hoping to gain the strength needed to face impending challenges and protect those she loves.
