For two centuries, all of the Darling women have disappeared on their 18th birthday. Sometimes they’re gone for only a day, some a week or a month. But they always return broken.
Now, on the afternoon of my 18th birthday, my mother is running around the house making sure all the windows are barred and the doors locked.
But it’s pointless.
Because when night falls, he comes for me. And this time, the Never King and the Lost Boys aren’t willing to let me go.
The Never King is a dark retelling of Peter and Wendy. If you like your enemies to lovers romance with hot, ruthless, morally gray love interests, you’ll enjoy The Never King and the Lost Boys. You can expect hate kissing, fighting, bickering, and ‘touch her and I’ll unalive you’ vibes.

My Review: Ok, so when I first read the synopsis of this book, I’ll admit: I laughed so hard. Sexy Peter Pan? Are you messing with me? I had to read it, though, if just for the experience. Just to have something to tell people about, you know? Hearing that, you might be as surprised as I was to find out that I actually enjoyed this book.
It wasn’t exactly as well written as I think it could’ve been and I honestly feel that there were a lot of elements to the story that were introduced and then not looked into as well as they could’ve been, however had those elements have been expanded more, this would’ve been a really great book. I would’ve appreciated Winnie being a little older as the eighteenth birthday stuff had a “barely legal” vibe to me and her character had a personality that felt older, which I felt was sort of explained by the story, but not to my satisfaction. That being said, I was drawn into the world building and the smut was top notch. Group stuff with Peter Pan…who knew? Certainly not J.M. Barrie, that’s who. It’s not exactly a triumph of literary arts, but it didn’t need to be. It was fun (in a way) and engaging and I honestly am interested in reading the others in the series. Enjoyed it, finished it and would (and did) recommend it to others.
