Panty dropper. There really was no other way to describe this man. This wasn’t a case of gin goggles. He was a bona fide hottie.
My attraction intensified under his stare. My legs turned to jelly. I needed to stabilize myself, or I would end up sprawled on the floor.
“Do not mistake me for one of the boys here.” He made a vague wave toward the younger men in the room. “I’ll be disappointed, but I promise I will let you leave in peace.”
I trailed a few fingers into his dark hair and twisted a stray curl around them gently. “Why don’t you stick around for a while and keep me company?”
“I’ve had my eyes on you since you entered the room,” he said with a wink.
“Listen, you don’t have to lay it on thick,” I said, adding a flirtatious laugh. “You had me at buonasera.”
His lips spread into a dazzling smile. “But it is true. I have a taste for only beautiful things.”
A blush warmed my cheeks, an uncharacteristically girlish reaction to his compliment. The stranger had me on edge. Get it together, Naomi. No matter how alluring this man is, be cautious with your emotions.
I stood straighter, squared my shoulders, and took a sip from my glass. It was all a vain attempt to prepare myself for what would surely be an intense roll in the sack.
He watched my movements with curiosity before he introduced himself at last. “Matt.”
“Naomi,” was all I offered. No need for last names or more details. We both knew exactly how this night was going to end.
