My Review: If you are a visual learner this is the perfect historical guide for you. The artwork and photographs in this book are phenomenal.  The brief history and captions that accompany each picture are easy to follow and highly informative.  This would be a wonderful addition to any history class, I know if my textbooks had looked this amazing I may have learned more. Sasha Vosk does an excellent job in showing New York as it was 400 years ago.

Biography

Sasha Vosk is a Brooklyn-based writer, director, muralist who immigrated
from Russia, where he was educated as an architect. He is an accomplished
illustrator, Emmy-award winning film producer (“Billy Crystal: A Midnight 
Train to Moscow,”) and a director/producer of the Moscow Circus’ worldwide
tours. He is a NY history buff and has more than thirty years’ experience using 
the technique of photorealism in illustration and mural work. 
Currently, he is a full-time author/illustrator.
