#BookReview: In an Absent Dream (Wayward Children #4) by Seanan McGuire @TorBooks

Synopsis: This fourth entry and prequel tells the story of Lundy, a very serious young girl who would rather study and dream than become a respectable housewife and live up to the expectations of the world around her. As well she should.

When she finds a doorway to a world founded on logic and reason, riddles and lies, she thinks she's found her paradise. Alas, everything costs at the goblin market, and when her time there is drawing to a close, she makes the kind of bargain that never plays out well.

My Review: What would you do if you could find a door to take you to another world?  Would you take it?  Lundy has always been very serious with her head stuck in a book.  Always following the rules in home and at school.  However one day while being absorbed in her reading while walking home she comes across a tree with a door inside.  But what is lying in wait for her on the inside of the door?  I really enjoyed this fourth instalment of this series.  Lundy is a character I can connect with.  I love to read and tend to seclude myself at times so it was nice to see how her character comes out of her shell as the book goes on.  She discovers friends along the way and learns the magic of the Goblin market.  I liked how in this book she was able to come and go a few times up until a certain age.  We also got to learn about her home world as well and unlike the others in the series she has a different reason for wanting to go into the door.  I loved learning about the rules of this new world as well and how much of an impact it can make on you and your debt.  If you are looking for a magical read then this book will be right up your alley!

Praise for Every Heart a Doorway
