Sixteen-year-old Sophia would much rather marry Erin, her childhood best friend, than parade in front of suitors. At the ball, Sophia makes the desperate decision to flee, and finds herself hiding in Cinderella’s mausoleum. There, she meets Constance, the last known descendant of Cinderella and her step sisters. Together they vow to bring down the king once and for all–and in the process, they learn that there’s more to Cinderella’s story than they ever knew . . .
This fresh take on a classic story will make readers question the tales they’ve been told, and root for girls to break down the constructs of the world around them.

My Review: Cinderella is Dead was amazing! This retelling is set two-hundred of years after Cinderella died and the world that she knew is overrun by horrible laws where women have no rights and are basically property to be sold and forfeited. The beloved story that you grew up with has been turned on its head and darkness has been spread across its pages. This story is not for the faint of heart dear readers but one of twisted measure.
This one if it was turned into a movie would really remind me of Snow White: A Tale of Terror!! I think it would fit right along side it. I was drawn into the story as soon as I started and I could not put it down. This story had darker themes as well as LGBT characters. It worked so well for this one!!
There was one twists towards the end that I didn't see coming. However, there was another part that I wished the characters would have figured out before the reveal. I felt that it made the characters seem stupid after everything they had been through.
The pacing in this one was great. It was fast and slow when needed and it just worked out so well for this tale. I can not wait for more by this author!!! She is totally one of my favorites now.
*Full Disclosure: Half way through reading this title and sharing quotes the author blocked me. I have no idea why this happened but it did not impact my enjoyment of this story.
