The job sounded simple enough. Rid the village of an ogre and rescue the girl. In return, the local lord would overlook that ugly business in the church. It was nothing he hadn’t dealt with before. That was before he heard the howls coming from the Bog of Móin Alúin. Before he crossed paths with the headless rider. Before he woke to find the witch’s crooked fingers on his face. Now, Berengar must unravel the labyrinth of secrets and lies surrounding the village before a deadly curse claims his life, all while a darker evil looms in the shadows....

Berengar was hired for an epic quest. Save the village from ogres and save the girl. Easy enough right? Though while trying to save the village and rescue the girl he runs into a hag who curses him. He must now also discover how to break the curse before it takes his life. He has three days to break the curse and save the village. Our main character seems willing to do anything needed to complete his task. He is ready for any challenge he may face with his many talents and weapons as well as the help of his loyal wolf dog. With many epic battles and twists and turns this tale will keep you on your toes wanting to know what happens next. I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook. The narrator does a good job bringing the characters to life I really enjoyed how much action this book has and there is always something happening and a lot of twists you won’t see coming. I also enjoyed the world that the author has created and how kick butt our main character is. If you are looking for a good fantasy series, with lots of action, this one is for you.
