About the Book:
After arguing with his best friend about which game to play, a boy decides its time to find a new best friend. So he tries to becoming friends with his dog, his cat, and his goldfish. He learns to eat on the floor with his dog, take naps with his cat, and watch the world from underwater with his goldfish. But none of these animals measure up to his true best friend, and he has to learn the very important lesson that being different from each other doesn't mean you can't still be the best of friends.
Mark Lee has a fascinating CV: several years in East Africa as a foreign correspondent for Reuters, two literary novels published by Picador and Algonquin, a controversial play about Guantanamo Bay performed at the New End Theatre in London, and picture book or two. His debut picture book, inspired by his son and daughter, 20 Big Trucks in the Middle of the Street (Candlewick, 2013), was a critical and commercial success, now in it's eighth printing. Mark is entirely game for readings and signings and school visits, and especially for wide-ranging, casual kidlit blog interviews.
