When kingdom come, there will be one.
In every generation on the island of Fennbirn, a set of triplets is born—three queens, all equal heirs to the crown and each possessor of a coveted magic. Mirabella is a fierce elemental, able to spark hungry flames or vicious storms at the snap of her fingers. Katharine is a poisoner, one who can ingest the deadliest poisons without so much as a stomachache. Arsinoe, a naturalist, is said to have the ability to bloom the reddest rose and control the fiercest of lions.
But becoming the Queen Crowned isn’t solely a matter of royal birth. Each sister has to fight for it. And it’s not just a game of win or lose…it’s life or death. The night the sisters turn sixteen, the battle begins.
The last queen standing gets the crown.

I have tried so many times to love this book and I have given up. I love this author's other series Antigoddess but this one just fell flat for me. I really loved the first chapter and I really wish that they would have published these as one queen per each book. As it sits it feels like you are being pulled in multi areas all at once. The first part of this book was so boring that it was a fight to read it. I almost didn't get it finished. I didn't really connect with any of the queens as a whole either. I really wish that each one would have been in one POV as I think that I would have fallen in love with each in turn. But this one as it just doesn't work out for me at all.
