#BookReview: Returned To Me by Helen Bea Kirk #Giveaway

Sometimes to find something right, you have to live through something wrong. Very wrong.

Once upon a time, Janet and Doreen left their Amish sect in Lagrange County, Indiana to experience the world outside for the first time. One year later, Doreen returned to Lagrange with a baby girl she named, Melanie. The father, Mr. Bontrouver, was a wealthy, married man.

When Mrs. Bontrouver hired detective Mike Garrison to investigate her husband’s activities, she learned of the child. In her rage, she forced him to return with her to France and abandon his heir.

Who could be behind the kidnapping of five-year-old Melanie when she is ripped from her mother and taken from her Amish community?

When Melanie attends Washington State University, she goes partying and is drugged and betrayed by her “friends.” They abandon the delirious Melanie at a late-night tattoo parlor with instructions to tattoo a cross in a humiliating place on her, because she loves Jesus. That’s when Melanie meets Jake. Was it a good thing that Jake’s girlfriend was out of town that night? When the cat’s away…

Jake’s world is fraught with tension. His marijuana-growing parents have avoided police scrutiny for years, but the shop is Jake’s now and that’s where the dope is stored, and he is sick of it. Between his growing irritation toward Candy and the recent police surveillance, Jake wants out of that world before he’s behind bars or married to Candy.

A tale of love, faith, and redemption, Returned To Me will hold your imagination captive with its tale of good people trying to turn wrongs into something right.

Intense adult situations, for mature readers.

For many years I was a "closet writer". Faithfully making character and plot notes for the day when I would bring it all together in a book. Well, it finally happened! The late-night scribbled ideas began to merge when I was bedridden in 2012. Writing helped me keep my sanity while I healed from surgery. To give credit where it is due, my husband and children have always been amazingly helpful and encouraging of all my projects; writing included. They say the best stories come from experience. To a degree, I believe that. I know I have been redeemed personally, and my Redeemer lives, so I do enjoy the subject of redemption in all its forms. Being a family-centered person, my stories always involve family or families.
Travelling has been a wonderful life's education for me, however, no matter how far I have travelled, the United States is my home; my stories reflect my appreciation for this continent as well. All Helen Bea Kirk's novels include suspense, drama, romance and some humor. After all, I'm just imitating life.

I would love to interact with you on my blog at HB Kirkpublishing. com

Regards,

Helen

This one was really good it grabbed me from the first pages and I couldn't put it down.  This is an Amish contemporary story about the power of Jesus as well as love and forgiveness. I do have to say that although this one full of Christian themes that I didn't feel I was being preached at.  I have been Pagan for over 20 years and I really enjoyed this book and the story.  I also want to tell you that this one has some graphic bedroom scenes as well as some language that you normally wouldn't think to find in this kind of book, so be warned!

This one had good pacing and great characters and even though it does have Christian themes I urge you to give this one a try!
