In middle school, words aren’t just words. They can be weapons. They can be gifts. The right words can win you friends or make you enemies. They can come back to haunt you. Sometimes they can change things forever.
When cell phones are banned at Branton Middle School, Frost and his friends Deedee, Wolf, and Bench come up with a new way to communicate: leaving sticky notes for each other all around the school. It catches on, and soon all the kids in school are leaving notes—though for every kind and friendly one, there is a cutting and cruel one as well.
In the middle of this, a new girl named Rose arrives at school and sits at Frost’s lunch table. Rose is not like anyone else at Branton Middle School, and it’s clear that the close circle of friends Frost has made for himself won’t easily hold another. As the sticky-note war escalates, and the pressure to choose sides mounts, Frost soon realizes that after this year, nothing will ever be the same.

Its Endy here! Yes I took this from my mom HEHEHEHE!!! So this book is getting reviewed by a middle grader! I am currently in my last few weeks of 7th grade!
I would die if I had to go to this school! I don't think I could live without my phone being with me. I use it all the time to look things up. So not being able to have it would so not work for me. That aside this book was very funny and it pictured middle grade so well. I would love to have friends like Frost (such a cool name). And I think that the use of posted notes was an interesting idea. I so think that parts of the story were slower than they needed to be. I wished it would have been faster paced.
I really liked Frost and his friends. This one I think would work out well for schools. I think us as kids would gain insight (had to ask mom about that one) about how we treat other people and that words really do hurt. I have seen first hand how words can hurt people down to their core.
This was a fantastic book that all middle graders and those going into middle grade should read.
