I know this one says that it can be read as a stand alone. You really miss out on the events of book one. This book takes us deeper into her family life as well as the lives of the Stokers and I just couldn't put it down. I really love Veronica as a character she is funny and was joy to read. The mystery in this one will keep you on your toes. And well the sexual tension between Veronica and Stoker was fabulous although I hope that they get together in the next book before its to late or something. It felt a little dragged out but still fun. I do wish the ending reveal would have been more shocking. It was a slight let down but still ok. I can't wait for the next book and Ill be rooting for Stoker and Veronica while I wait. If your looking for a great detective story with passion then look no further!
