Welcome to the first post of First Page Tuesday! Each week well share one amazing start to a book we have on hand! Sometimes it will be a finished copy and other it will be an ARC. If it is an ARC please understand that this may not match the finished product.
We came up with this idea via 1linewednesday which is a # on twitter and a few other places that we loved so much we wanted to share a full page with you.
This week we have a young adult fantasy that is one book that just can't wait for. Its one journey that I know I won't forget! We hope you enjoy this early look at this upcoming title!
This title will be released on January 31, 2017.
It's been a shattering year for seventeen-year-old Zoe, who's still reeling from her father's shockingly sudden death in a caving accident and her neighbors' mysterious disappearance from their own home. Then on a terrifying sub-zero, blizzardy night in Montana, she and her brother are brutally attacked in a cabin in the woods--only to be rescued by a mysterious bounty hunter they call X.
X is no ordinary bounty hunter. He is from a hell called the Lowlands, sent to claim the soul of Zoe's evil attacker and others like him. Forbidden to reveal himself to anyone other than his victims, X casts aside the Lowlands' rules for Zoe. As X and Zoe learn more about their different worlds, they begin to question the past, their fate, and their future. But escaping the Lowlands and the ties that bind X might mean the ultimate sacrifice for both of them.
Jeff Giles grew up in Cohasset, Massachusetts. Most recently, he was the deputy managing editor of Entertainment Weekly, where he oversaw all coverage of movies and books, including the magazine's championing of YA fiction. Jeff has written for Rolling Stone and The New York Times Books Review. He also coauthored The Terrorist's Son, a nonfiction book that won an Alex Award from the American Library Association and has since been translated into more than a dozen languages. While reporting on the Lord of the Rings movies for Newsweek, Jeff was invited to be an extra in The Return of the King. He played a Rohan soldier, and--because he didn't have a beard or mustache--they glued yak hair to his face. Jeff lives with his family in Montana.

Prologue
She named him herself, so it felt like he belonged to her.
He said that were he was from, which he called the Lowlands, they strip your name away like a husk the moment you arrive-to remind you that you're no one and nothing. When he told her this, she moved a little closer, She should have been scared after what she'd seen him do to Stan, but she wasn't. Stan deserved everything he got and worse.
The lake was frozen, and they were standing way out in the middle. The ice was shifting, settling. It made booming sounds beneath them, as if it might give way. Stan was gone, but drops of his blood had seeped into the lake. There was a dark constellation at their feet.
She refused to look at it. She suggested some names, and he listened in silence, his eyes shy and wounded-looking. She wanted to step even closer, but she was afraid she'd startle him. She teased him instead.
