In this book we follow Annie who is dealing with grief and self-blame after the death of her boyfriend. Her boyfriend was a runner that was training for a marathon. So in order to cope with his death she begins to train for a marathon herself. She begins to loose faith in herself and the goals she set for herself. Then her running coaches' brother, Jeremiah, starts to show up everywhere that she is running. And she has to figure out if loving him is worth her heart.
