#ThursdayThoughts: Its a Hate Love Relationship give us your thoughts!
I love you and I hate you are two sentences that I see all the time in reviews. Its a fine line between books we love and well books we just don't love so much. Tastes are so different between each reader. In my online bookclub I've seen where Ill love a book and someone else will hate it. But, then another book well both love or hate. Its been this way forever. So how does it make you feel when you love or hate that someone else feels the total different of?
For me I feel so bad when I hate something that it seems that everyone has loved. Ill get an ARC or a finish copy of a book that looks so freaking good and everyone else is raving about it and I read it and at first I'm like......
Fangiling that I got it!! Then I really start to dive into it and then I'm like.....
WHAT IS THIS CRAP?!?!?!?!
Did I get the wrong book? Was it miss printed? Is this a joke? Did they publish different ones or something?
One time it was so bad I really was wondering how did this book get published. For the life of me I can't remember what the title was but really it was BAD!!! And everyone but me loved it.
So what makes it so different from loving a book that everyone else hated. For me that was a book by Kiersten White called The Chaos of Stars. Seems like everyone hated that book back when I had it as an ARC. I ended up loving it!!! I have that baby signed by the author when I met her last year. Love my signed finished copy of that puppy. I really hope we get another book to the series as well.
As for one I hated that everyone seems to love is Illumine by Kaufman and Kristoff. This one everyone was raving about and still is since book two is almost out. But I just couldn't do it.
So what makes you love or hate a book? What books have you loved that everyone hated or hated when everyone else has loved it?
