#Review #Giveaway for The Stars Never Rise (The Stars Never Rise, #1) by @RachelKVincent @DelacortePress

Sixteen-year-old Nina Kane should be worrying about her immortal soul, but she's too busy trying to actually survive. Her town's population has been decimated by soul-consuming demons, and souls are in short supply. Watching over her younger sister, Mellie, and scraping together food and money are all that matters. The two of them are a family. They gave up on their deadbeat mom a long time ago.

When Nina discovers that Mellie is keeping a secret that threatens their very existence, she'll do anything to protect her. Because in New Temperance, sins are prosecuted as crimes by the brutal Church and its army of black-robed exorcists. And Mellie's sin has put her in serious trouble.

To keep them both alive, Nina will need to trust Finn, a fugitive with deep green eyes who has already saved her life once and who might just be an exorcist. But what kind of exorcist wears a hoodie?

Wanted by the Church and hunted by dark forces, Nina knows she can't survive on her own. She needs Finn and his group of rogue friends just as much as they need her.

So while making this post I noticed I brought this book last year on my birthday.
I also got this one signed last year it was so much fun at the event meeting all these amazing authors.

SOOOO This book I really wasnt sure what I was going to think about it.  To tell you the truth I really kinda almost put it down.  But I kept going and was rewarded with a great story!!!  This one does however have one slight issue.  It has some MAJOR INSTALOVE!

That was the one thing that kinda turned me off of this one.  But I sucked it up and kept reading and let me tell you.  If you can get past that you will LOVE THIS BOOK!!! It has some wonderful and interesting concepts and ideas about demons and well other things. One in particular named Finn that I can't talk about.

This world that these people live in ravaged by demons and it was fabulous.  I really can't wait to read book two and see more of their world.  The plot and pacing to this story was wonderful.  It was fast paced and I just couldn't put it down.

The ruling party of their world is the Church and they rule with an iron fist.  If you are suspected of being possessed then you get burned alive in the town square.  So yes this one is somewhat graphic.

The start and middle of this book were 5 stars all the way.  However, the instalove and the last tail end of this story fell a little short for me.  Other than that it was a heart pounding adventure.

I really love how this book is about a ton of things all at once. From human survival to what it means to be human as well as what would you do to protect those you love as well as the world.

This is a high stakes dystopian adventure that you shouldnt miss!
