Signed, sealed, delivered…
While spacing out in chemistry class, Lily scribbles some of her favorite song lyrics onto her desk. The next day, she finds that someone has continued the lyrics on the desk and added a message to her. Intrigue!
Soon, Lily and her anonymous pen pal are exchanging full-on letters—sharing secrets, recommending bands, and opening up to each other. Lily realizes she’s kind of falling for this letter writer. Only, who is he? As Lily attempts to unravel the mystery and juggle school, friends, crushes, and her crazy family, she discovers that matters of the heart can’t always be spelled out…
Kasie West is the author of several YA novels, including The Distance Between Us, On the Fence, The Fill-in Boyfriend, and P.S. I Like You. Her books have been named as ALA Quick Picks for Reluctant Readers and as YALSA Best Books for Young Adults. PS I Like You although it was predictable, was also very enjoyable. I really loved being in the world that is Lily. Her family life is very crazy with two little brothers and and older sister. I loved seeing her figure out who she is as well as her understanding to not take people at face value. Because, there could be a reason why they do the things they do. And that not everything is as it seems.
The romance bit of this book comes out during the last few chapters and although that was kinda sad I was ok it with. I do kinda wish that we would have gotten though the whole who is writing me letters faster and gotten more of them being together. But in the end it all worked and flowed very well.
This is my first Kasie West book but now I'm going to have to go through my massive amounts of TBR and pull out the one other book I know I have from her and toss it on my need to read now pile. Because, if all of her books are as good as this one. I may have found a NEW FAV AUTHOR! (yippy)
This book and story were pretty straight forward. It was cute, funny, and the Best Contemporaty of 2016. If your looking for a light, slightly romantic, funny read I would pick this one up!
