They say there are no secrets in a small town...
Criminal psychologist Audrey Harte is returning home after seven years. She'll have to face the whispers and the rumors that have haunted her family since she left. Because when Audrey was thirteen, she and her best friend Maggie killed Maggie's abusive father.
Her first night back in town ends in a fight with a drunken Maggie, with her old crush Jake to witness it all. Audrey can't believe it can get worse.
Then Maggie turns up dead.
Now, Audrey has to find out who the murderer is - before everyone decides that she is to blame. And before the murderer can set their sights on her.
It Takes One is the first in a brand new thriller series where a criminal psychologist uses her own dark past to help law enforcement catch dangerous killers.
It Takes One is my first thriller, but I felt completely at home writing it, even though it has its darker moments. Part of that ease might have stemmed from the fact that I grew up in a town like Edgeport, filled with quirky characters, good folks and dark secrets. I also knew several young women who contributed to the character of Maggie, though all of them are thankfully still alive, and thriving despite all they've been through. I've always been fascinated by why people do the things we do, and why we sometimes choose to ignore what's right in front of us, which is also what drives Audrey. I hope readers enjoy being with her when she uncovers the truth!
This author under her many names is one of my favs! From Teen to Adult she has never steered me wrong. And now with this new thriller I have to say WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE!!! This one hit it out of the park for me! I had no expectations going into this one and well that was fine. Because this book was amazing!
This book was fast paced, suspenseful, edge of your seat read! I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting. The characters and the who did it and why blew me away! I did kinda figure out who did what but the why will just shock you!! I know it did me.
