As an obedient orphan of the U.N.A. (the super-country that was once Mexico, the U.S., and Canada), Alenna learned at an early age to blend in and be quiet—having your parents taken by the police will do that to a girl. But Alenna can’t help but stand out when she fails a test that all sixteen-year-olds have to take: The test says she has a high capacity for brutal violence, and so she is sent to The Wheel, an island where all would-be criminals end up.
The life expectancy of prisoners on The Wheel is just two years, but with dirty, violent, and chaotic conditions, the time seems a lot longer as Alenna is forced to deal with civil wars for land ownership and machines that snatch kids out of their makeshift homes. Desperate, she and the other prisoners concoct a potentially fatal plan to flee the island. Survival may seem impossible, but Alenna is determined to achieve it anyway.

Biography
Lisa M. Stasse was born on a farm in a small town in upstate New York. Bitten by the travel bug, she has since lived in twelve different states and four different countries. She graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Political Science and English literature, and is currently a digital librarian at UCLA. Lisa loves watching science fiction movies, cooking Spanish food, and dancing around her house to 80's music (when no one is watching). She lives in Santa Monica, California with her husband and their two-year-old daughter. All three of them are learning how to surf.
I loved this book! I enjoyed this book start to finish. I could not put it down. And
I promise you won't either!! There's a lot of action and some love. It's a pretty suspenseful novel. It kept me on my toes the whole time. There was an amazing setting, wonderful characters and the bonds between them were so real. There were some twists I didn't see coming.
GO GET IT NOW AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE BOOK 2!!
Do you like awesome books? Do you like books with such intensity, you're literally sweating until the very end? How about raw emotion and fast paced adrenaline rushes? Did you answer yes to all these questions? Of course you did. GO BUY THIS BOOK. Enough said. It's that awesome. There is nothing like a good keep you on the edge of your seat. I haven't been this invested in a book since the Hunger Games. I literally ate this one up and instantly went and added book two and three to my wish list. YES, YES and YES PLEASE! What's that? You want to gift me the rest of the books because you love our reviews? AWESOME SAUCE. You're my new best friend.
Seriously, get the books.
This one I wasn't to sure about. But I was happily surprised! With twists and turns this book will keep you on the edge of your seat until the last page. Which then you find yourself screaming NOOOO I want MORE! I cant wait for more! I don't spoilers as you all know. But, I will say one thing. The only thing I really didn't like about this book is time. You don't figure out what the date is until well into the book. Which really sucks. You know that its sometime in the future but how long into the future you just don't know.
