Queen of Always (Stolen Empire #3) by @AuthorSherry #Review

LONG LIVE THE QUEEN

If her time at court has taught Catherine anything, it’s that there is no room for weakness in Imperial Russia. With the Empress’ health failing and rumors of a change in the line of succession, her place in the royal line is once more in jeopardy. Tormented by her sadistic husband and his venomous mistress, Catherine must once more walk the fine line between pleasure and politics—between scandal and survival.

When her young son becomes the target of those rebelling against Peter’s reign, Catherine will have to rise up to protect herself, her child, and her nation from his unstable and potentially catastrophic rule. This means putting herself at odds with the most dangerous man she’s ever known, trusting those who once proved to be her enemies, and turning a nation against its sovereign. In the ultimate battle for the crown, new alliances will be forged, loyalties will be tested, and blood will be shed.

Don’t miss this breathtaking conclusion to the Stolen Empire series!

Queen of Tomorrow is a YA historical fiction based on the life of young Catherine the Great. Fans of the hit TV show REIGN will devour this scandalous glimpse into the life of one of the most dynamic women in history.

Biography

Sherry D. Ficklin is a full time writer from Colorado where she lives with her husband, four kids, two dogs, and a fluctuating number of chickens and house guests. She can often be found browsing her local bookstore with a large white hot chocolate in one hand and a towering stack of books in the other. This will have a slight spoiler!

This has got to be one of the very few books that ripped my heart out.  Everything that Catherine went through I just don't have words.

Reading I ended up talking to the author about some of the things that happened.  During this book Peter abuses Catherine in open Court.  Well I found out what really happened was so so much worse. More on that below.

This book is so inspirational.  To never let those around you beat you down. You get back up and charge on.  Catherine's life was so full of hate but also much love and passion.

Ok onto the normal review:

In this third and last installment of the Stolen Empire series we find Catherine no longer the little girl she was from book one.  Her child stolen from her grabs she knows its time to do what she should have done a while ago.  That the Empress has to die. This book has Catherine a woman who is tired of taking anyones crap.  She has grown so much during the course of this series.

I was so afraid to read this book to find out what happened to her. But I'm happy to say that although it didn't end on a happily ever after it did end well.

The world that Sherry Ficklin has build upon is just so amazing!  She wrote it in a way that you the reader are pulled in and immersed in the story. You feel everything that the characters feel.

The pacing of the book is very fast paced and complete.  It was never dull and never slow. The characters are tested to their limits and we will loose a much loved one. That I am not sad to say that I bawled my eyes out when it happened.  Catherine turns from prey to predator and with it she grows even more.

The story itself is def. for older teens and new adults.  There is a few things that happen in this story that is not for the younger teen crowed.  One of which is Catherine being set on fire in open court (in truth she was beaten and raped in open court) and another is a three-some (that really happened).  So to say that Peter was a freaking PSYCHO is an understatement.

 Go Into This One Knowing
Riveting, Historical Fiction about a wonderful monarch, Should NOT be missed!

Quotes:  My fav quote for this series has to be

"Don't wound anything you can't kill"
