#Review of The Crown (Queen of Hearts Saga #1) by @ColleenBlooms

As Princess of Wonderland Palace and the future Queen of Hearts, Dinah’s days are an endless monotony of tea, tarts, and a stream of vicious humiliations at the hands of her father, the King of Hearts. The only highlight of her days is visiting Wardley, her childhood best friend, the future Knave of Hearts — and the love of her life.

When an enchanting stranger arrives at the Palace, Dinah watches as everything she’s ever wanted threatens to crumble. As her coronation date approaches, a series of suspicious and bloody events suggests that something sinister stirs in the whimsical halls of Wonderland. It’s up to Dinah to unravel the mysteries that lurk both inside and under the Palace before she loses her own head to a clever and faceless foe.

Part epic fantasy, part twisted fairy tale, this dazzling saga will have readers shivering as Dinahs furious nature sweeps Wonderland up in the maelstrom of her wrath.

Familiar characters such as Cheshire, the White Rabbit, and the Mad Hatter make their appearance, enchanting readers with this new, dark take on Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

My Review 5 Headless Cards

The Mad Hatter is just a derange young boy with a loving sister whom is non other than the future Queen of Hearts.  In this retelling of a wonderful Prequel to Alice in Wonderland you will find new twists on an old tale.  Along with a death of a major character.  It makes me wonder how Alice would have faired in this world.

This book will knock your socks off and hats off (if you wear them) while you are wisked away to Wonderland!  In a higher teen ya tale of Dinah the further Queen of Hearts and her journey.

I really loved this book Dinah really pulls on the heart strings.  She really isn't what everyone around her thinks a princess should be like.  She really reminded me of Elisa in The Girl of Fire and Thorns before she made the trip across the desert. (sorry light spoiler) She was all about food etc.  But then when the unthinkable happens she is wicked away to fend for her life.

Although the romance in this one is very light I really hope we get more in book two.  (review posting tomorrow)

I just can't express how much happens in this book this author just did an amazing job bringing you into a world that most of us (30 year olds) grew up with.  Ive been a die hard fan of retellings forever and to be able to have this one done so well well I just have to say that you need to go buy this one!!

The world building is great with new and old things represented.  The characters are all human so no white rabbits hopping around.  Although I did love the one person who represented him and would laugh any time he would scream at Dinah about being late.

I really have to think how the author is going to take this great female character and turn her into the villain that we see in the normal Wonderland story.  And again I REALLY want another series about Alice in this world!!!

Go Into This One Knowing

No love triangle, fast paced, wonderful read! Now go get it or its OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!!!

"A wonderfully entertaining twist on an old classic." - Kirkus Reviews

"Oakes has created her own world here. Her Wonderland is darker, more cutthroat and somehow more real."  - Amanda Reid, Forever Young Adult
