Biography

Gwenda Bond is the author of Girl on a Wire, whose daredevil young heroine discovers danger and passion lurking beneath the big top. Her previous books include the young adult novels The Woken Gods and Blackwood. Her writing has also appeared in Publishers Weekly and the Los Angeles Times, among other publications. She has an MFA in writing from the Vermont College of Fine Arts and lives in a hundred-year-old house in Lexington, Kentucky, with her husband, author Christopher Rowe, and their menagerie. My Review 3 Stars Hanging By a Thread

Girl On a Wire was a slow story with a blend of magic/paranormal. Told through the eyes of talented 16 year old Jules. Girl On a Wire takes us though the life of two circus families that have been rivals for years. I thought that this book had a great premise but the execution fell a little flat. Although I really did live the well rounded characters and family elements of the story. The plot and story itself were very slow and it took me forever to get through it. So unfortunately  for this reviewer this one is a take it or leave it.
