For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.

Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself—and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.

Even after not reading this since before it came out.  I still LOVE IT! This one I was reading via three ways lol.  I was switching via Audio, Print, and Ebook.  And well I loved it!  I finished this one at Universal and then started The Elite.  I really loved this plot, characters, and world.  Cass did a wonderful job creating a post world where everyone has a place.  (no matter if you like it or not).

If you loved The Hunger Games, Pawn, and others like them you will fall in love with this book that is like The Bachelor for teens and adults alike.

PS I really hope that they decide to make this into a movie.

I think it was a tv movie, I looked it up on IMDB a while ago

I would have to say Maxon just for the fact that Aspen doesnt think she can do the queen thing. And the person that loves you should have you aspire to the most you can be.

Yes it was pitched to the CW but they didnt pick it up. Delirium by Lauren Oliver was also picked and discarded.

Okay. So I will probably like Maxon.

So I finally read the book. I did like it. Maxon is kind of sweet.
