L. Alison Heller grew up in Connecticut and attended Bates College in Maine. After graduation, she wandered dreamily around the eastern seaboard, temping and interning and shelving books, trying a little of this and a little of that, before landing in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Having hit her limit for dreamy wandering, she enrolled at the University of North Carolina School of Law. In 2000, she graduated from UNC with honors and moved to New York City, where she toiled in several law firms, growing increasingly nostalgic for those days of dreamy wandering. Alison opened her own family law and mediation practice in 2006 to help couples divorce with their sanity intact.

Alison's first novel, THE LOVE WARS, will be published by Penguin (NAL) in May 2013. Her second novel, as of yet untitled, is scheduled for 2014.

Alison currently lives in Brooklyn with her family and is right now probably working on someone's divorce or her next novel or riding on the New York City subway, dragging or being dragged by at least one child on a scooter. (Don't be fooled by Alison's modest blush--the subway dragging is every bit as glamorous as it sounds.)

I seriously enjoyed this book and the absorbing story within its pages. I thought the author's first book, The Love Wars, was a wonderful read and I am happy to report that this second story continues to show off the authors ability to write a compelling, strong, story.

Paige who is the main character was so full of doubt when this book started. But, as the book goes on she finds herself and really matures throughout the book. I loved following along with her. I really think the author did a marvelous job with this story of two sisters who reconnect at adults was done so beautifully.

Each sister gives her own thoughts via letters etc. This one has a very nice plot twist, that for a change I didn't see coming. The twist just added a wonderful new direction of the story and if you do read this. Let me know if you saw it coming or predicted it. I want to know!

This book came in the mail and I finished it in a few hours. It was just that good. It would be a great beach or lazy day read. So grab a good cup of tea/coffee, grab your book, and go lay out on a hammock in the breeze.
