Vane Weston should have died in the category-five tornado that killed his parents. Instead, he woke up in a pile of rubble with no memories of his past - except one: a beautiful, dark-haired girl standing in the winds. She swept through his dreams ever since, and he clings to the hope that she's real.
Audra is real, but she isn't human. She's a sylph, an air elemental who can walk on the wind, translate its alluring songs, even twist it into a weapon. She's also a guardian - Vane's guardian - and has sworn an oath to protect him at all costs.
When a hasty mistake reveals their location to the enemy who murdered both their families, Audra has just days to help Vane unlock his memories. And as the storm winds gather, Audra and Vane start to realize that the greatest danger might not be the warriors coming to destroy them, but the forbidden romance growing between them.

I have to say that when I started this book. I was really worried. I was worried it was just going to be another ANGEL book. And let me tell you that I haven't read an angel book in almost two years. Why, because its all been done. And I was tired of hearing the same old story. Well I am happy to report that this one was NOT angels. It was something so much better!! And It was Witchy!! (but not about witches). This one through me for a loop and I loved it. The only thing that I had a little issue with was how Vane came across as a girl on some pages, a man slut on others, and then a fearless protector on even others. But, I got over it and really enjoyed his story. I can't wait to read book two. Which I will be starting as soon as I am done here.
I think both characters were well put together. Other than the above. The both have their past pains and are trying to work through them. I love the fact that Vane's mom just believes him when the time comes. So many movies, books, etc make the parents go crazy. It was a nice change that she believes her son. I loved the fact that this book doesn't right out and tell you what is going on. You get a little pit here and a little there. Then they tell you. And I have to agree with Vane in the book. It wasn't what I was expecting. This book was a refreshing new look at the world around you with a new take and concept pulled right from the Pagans/Wiccans of our age. I love how she spun and twisted the mythos of these beings.
This book had its laugh out loud moments, as well as ones that you want to crawl into a hole and cry. It also had a surprise ending that was kind of hinted at. But, I so didn't see coming. So for this one........grab the book, get a hammock, and read while the wind is blowing around you. You won't regret it!

the only issue I had with this one was that the guy sounded more like a girl lol as in he had FEELINGS!! Which took a little getting used to! Other than that it was a great book.
