In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago world, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue--Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is--she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.
During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles alongside her fellow initiates to live out the choice they have made. Together they must undergo extreme physical tests of endurance and intense psychological simulations, some with devastating consequences. As initiation transforms them all, Tris must determine who her friends really are--and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes exasperating boy fits into the life she's chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she's kept hidden from everyone because she's been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers unrest and growing conflict that threaten to unravel her seemingly perfect society, Tris also learns that her secret might help her save the ones she loves . . . or it might destroy her.
Biography
So for some reason I think that I had read a really bad review online and decided that the Divergent Series just wasn't for me. Well man was I wrong! I an never reading another review if I have to read the book because, I know wonder how many really Great books I've missed out on.
Divergent was so different from anything Ive read. This series is definitely one of a kind. And I loved it! Tris grows so much in this book! She starts out as a teen that is scared of herself and turns into a wonderful wonderful woman who doesn't take anyones crap. Four/Tobis was also a great character and I felt so stupid that I didn't put two and two together at the very start. As of course I have heard all the stuff about this series via the third book coming out and of course the movie. So I don't know where my brain was as I didn't see that twist coming. I was WTF!
I love the fact that I didn't finish this book back when I first had it as I would have had to wait all that time to read the next two and now I can speed read my way through them all. Yippy for me (sorry guys who had to wait I feel your pain with The One by Cass)
So this one was deff. a 5 stars for me.
"*I own it in Print, Ebook!"

I just hope that they follow the book! If they do I think that Divergent will turn out really well :-)
There are a lot of things I want them to keep, most of them having to do with the feeling of the book. Tris is a strong character with a "tough" voice in the books. I'm hoping they don't grate her down or soften her edges for the film. I hope the fear sequences are scary, intense, and come across the way they were meant to be in the book. I hope that the first film actually covers the entire first book and doesn't end at some weird point. I'm just worried about how it's going to do at the box office with the possibility that people don't go since they know the ending of Allegiant. I want it to do well because it's a series I would love to see on the big screen from beginning to end.
Ok Im scared now. I am a little more than half way through the last book and I am getting really scared with comments such as that one lol. Was the ending really that bad?
Im not really worried about anything being cut. Im really interested in seeing how they do the intro with her brother and her interacting

I just hope Tris & Four has much chemistry on screen as they do in the book. The trailer looks great, I just really hope I'm not disappointed. Thank you for the giveaway.
I haven't read the book as yet. I actually wanted to see the movie before I read the book....I know, everyone tells me I'm weird...lol!!!
I just hope that they stick as close to the book as possible.
I hope they do the capture the flag part right. I'm worried they won't make it as epic as it really was! Also.. they kinda already "spoiled" the roof jump scene for people that hadn't read the book.. but I will live. I just can't wait to see what they do with it! I am just starting to read to book, so I can't really say. But I hope they follow the book closely; I hate when the movie is wildly different than the book!

I'm only half-way through right now so I don't know. I just hope they stick closely to the book.
I don't know. I've not read the book to say

From what I've seen in clips, it doesn't seem like any of the important scenes were cut. So, I'm not worried.
I have not read the book yet.
I don't have many fears for the first movie. Shailene's interviews have said she is glad that they didn't water down Tris' character. So I'm just excited.
I liked the first book, my sister loved it. I loved all the shirtless Four in the movie.
